Biography
Dr. Canise Y. Bean , DMD, MPH is a clinical professor at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. She is director of community education and oversees the major outreach program for the college, the OHIO Project, which has expanded dental education so that students spend 50 days of their clinical education in community-based sites. This program helps them to address the number one unmet healthcare need in the state: access to oral healthcare. Dr. Bean is a Fellow of the International Academy of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. She serves as a district representative on the American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Communications. Canise is a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a member of the Twin Rivers Chapter of the Links, Inc. And her most cherished role is being the mother of Michael Jr. and Yvette, and the proud grandmother of Michaela Rae and Mickenzie Ria.
